Lipedema Procedures

Lipedema is a chronic and progressive condition characterized by the excessive accumulation of fat cells in the legs and arms, typically in a disproportionate manner relative to the rest of the body. It primarily affects women and is often misdiagnosed as obesity or lymphedema. Lipedema can cause pain, swelling, and tenderness in the affected areas, and can also lead to mobility issues and reduced quality of life.Conservative treatment in the form of compression therapy, nutritional advice and manual lymphatic drainage may help slow the progression of the disease. In cases of failed conservative treatment, functional liposuction of the affected areas can provide symptom reduction and improvement in mobility as well as quality of life.
